Barry L. Gainey

Barry L. Gainey is a native of Rochester N.Y., born on April 17th, 1961. He was baptized into Christ on April 21, 1971 at the Northside Church of Christ where Bro. E.D. Brown served as the Minister.

Bro. Barry Gainey graduated from Pittsford-Mendon High school in 1980. In 1984 he was encouraged by Minister Wilson Dicker to attend Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas. During this time, he met the love of his life, Sister Kim D. Wilbon of Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Southwestern in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies.

On May 5th, 1990 Bro. Barry Gainey married Sis. Kim Wilbon in Kansas City, Mo. They are blessed with three children; Daria Nicole, Melanie DeEtte and Barry Donel.

In 1991 Minister Wilson Dicker recommended Bro. Gainey to Minister Joseph Brown of the Dill Ave. Church of Christ in Richmond, VA for the mission work in Emporia, VA. Bro. Gainey served the Emporia Church of Christ as Minister from 1991 to 1996. In 1996 Bro. Gainey became the Minister of the Fiske Blvd Church of Christ in Rockledge, FL, where he served until 2003. In 2002 Minister Wilson Dicker recommended Bro. Gainey to the Hampton Avenue Church of Christ in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In February of 2003, Bro Gainey became the Minister and he currently serves this church. Under his leadership the church has experienced and numerical growth.  2013 Bro. Gainey had the honor of scripturally organizing the church by ordaining men to serve the church as Elders and Deacons.  One of Bro. Gainey’s favorite bible verses is “ I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). To God be the Glory!
